SmashChat
SmashChat is a platform that blends real-time messaging, social features, and an inline marketplace into one experience. It positions itself as a chat and commerce hub for Africa, allowing users to talk and trade without switching apps. The homepage clearly communicates this promise, with a clean interface and a strong call to action for early access. Its brand focuses on local relevance and connected communities, setting it apart from global chat products. While the mobile app is still coming soon on iOS and Android, the web experience builds anticipation and serves as the primary touchpoint today.

The Goal:
The goal was to design a platform that blends messaging and marketplace experiences so users can communicate and shop without friction, with a strong focus on the African market’s communication habits.

The Challenge:
The core challenge was blending social chat and commerce so it felt natural, not forced. This matters a lot in regions where users prefer one app that does many things well rather than juggling multiple tools. Think of how "WhatsApp" evolved from simple messaging into a trusted space for business conversations and payments. On top of that, we had to establish trust early while designing for a mobile app experience that users expect, even before the app officially exists.

The Result
The website delivers a simple, polished web UI that clearly communicates core functions and value propositions, even without an app. It sets expectations for what’s coming, builds interest in early access, and positions the future mobile experience as a next step. The solution keeps users engaged with announcements and a smooth path to signup while the broader product ecosystem gets finalized.
